Atletico Madrid qualified for the quarter-finals of the Spanish King’s Cup, after its exciting 4-2 victory over its guest, Real Madrid, today, Thursday, at the Metropolitano Stadium, after an extension to extra time, after the original time ended in a 2-2 draw.
The two teams played an exciting match, full of goals and excitement. Atletico Madrid dominated most of the match, scoring its four goals through Samuel Leno (39), Alvaro Morata (57), Antoine Griezmann (100) and Riquelme (119).
While Real Madrid scored two goals through Jan Oblak (an own goal) in the 45th minute, and Joselu in the 82nd minute.
Real Madrid tried to equalize, but Dani Ceballos’ goal in the 111th minute was disallowed due to Bellingham being offside.
In the 119th minute, Atletico Madrid decided the match in their favor, after Rodrigo Riquelme scored the fourth goal.
With this victory, Atletico Madrid takes revenge for its loss in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals, and knocks the royal team out of the King’s Cup.
