Barcelona team joined its historic rival, Real Madrid, in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, after the Catalan team defeated its counterpart, Osasuna, with a score of two clean goals, during the confrontation that brought the two teams together at the “Awal Park” stadium, in front of more than 21 thousand spectators in Riyadh.
Real Madrid and Barcelona will meet on the same stadium in the final, next Sunday, in the Spanish Super Clasico.
Barcelona’s double was scored by Polish Lewandowski in the 59th minute, and by Spain’s Lamine Yamal in the third minute of stoppage time.
Despite controlling most of the game, Barcelona players failed to score, and the first half ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Polish Lewandowski was able to open the scoring in the fifty-ninth minute, with the players of the opposing team demanding a violation before scoring the goal, but the video assistant technology confirmed that there was no reason to call a violation.
Osasuna players advanced towards the attack in order to equalize, but their shots lacked accuracy in front of Barcelona’s goal.
As the match took its last breath, Lamine Yamal was able to double the score with a second goal in the third minute of stoppage time, ending the match with Barcelona winning by two clean goals.
