Miami Masters: Nishikori beaten by Ofner on return to Tour
Japan’s Kei Nishikori lost on his return to the ATP Tour after eight months out as he was beaten 6-3, 6-4 by Austrian Sebastian Ofner in the first round of the Miami Open at the Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday evening.
The former world No 4, whose career has been beset by injury problems, was well below his best but performed pretty well on his return to action.
Ofner, ranked No 40, recorded his first Miami win. He will face No 20 seed Francisco Cerundolo next.
