Nigeria beats South Africa and reserves its place in Cup final highlights

Nigerian national team obtained the qualification card for the final match of the African Nations Championship in Côte d’Ivoire, after defeating South Africa on penalties 3-2, in the match that brought together the two teams at the Al-Salam Stadium in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, in the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship.

The match witnessed confrontations and mutual attacks, as the Nigerian national team began to advance in high spirits after the opportunity to take the lead led by defender William Ekong, but the South African national team quickly regained balance from the penalty mark at the end of the normal time of the match through the foot of Teboho Mokiana.

Nigeria’s goal was scored by William Troost in the 68th minute from a penalty kick awarded to Nigerian striker Osimhen, while South Africa’s goal was scored by Mokoena also from a penalty kick in the 85th minute by Omar Al-Mujali.

The original and extra time of the match became a positive draw with one goal each for Nigeria and South Africa.

The Nigerian team decided the match in its favor, after defeating its South African counterpart through penalty kicks, winning by four goals to two goals.
This came after the match ended in a 1-1 draw between the two teams, as each team tried to gain possession of the ball and impose maximum control over the match, in the semi-finals of the most expensive African continental championships.
